Shipper’s and consignees should know that cargoes are not all carried at the same temperature and should be aware of the risk of temperature gradients through out a container. When a shipper loads a container they should ensure the product is loaded in such a way to avoid the risk of certains areas having the temperature maintained at the correct temperature.

Carriers are contracted ensure temperature controlled containers meet the shippers requirements as laid our in the bill of lading and do not directly control product temperatures.
