Below is a list of Common CPC Codes which are current as of January 2021. All imports and exports require a CPC code and the person who is handling your customs entry will want to know what it is. If we are acting on your behalf and are unsure of the correct CPC code to use do not pick one at random. AJF can provide guidance and check your choice before the customs declaration is made.

CPC codes are always made up 7 digits in the format 00 00 000.

First 2 digits indicate the customs procedure being applied

Next 2 digits are the previous customs procedure

Finally the last 3 digits indicate a more detail of the process undertaken. IE 001 means the good are now in free circulation

Most common CPC codes

10 00 001 – Used for goods in free UK circulation for full export to the rest of the world

40 00 000 – Goods which are coming in to the UK for resale and nothing

Other common CPC codes

21 00 000 – Outward Processing where you have full HM Customs Authorisation

61 21 000 – Outward Processing where the goods are being returned back into the uk

51 00 000 – Inward Processing where you have full HM Customs Authorisation

31 51 000 – Inward Process goods which where temporary imported and now being re-exported

61 23 F01 – Return of UK Goods (within a 3 Year Limit)

31 71 000 – Goods exported from a customs warehouse

71 00 000 – Goods imported into a customs warehouse
